Locals often refer to Alexandra Headland as 'Alex', the community is located on a beautiful stretch of road known as the Sunshine Strip which sits between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore. Alexandra Headland has a laid back atmosphere, easy going locals and popular patrolled beaches. The rocky headland offers some of the best surf on the Queensland coast and hence is becoming increasingly popular with surfers. Swimmers can also enjoy a day at the beach as there is a patrolled swimming area provided by the surf club.

The headland has wonderful views of Mount Coolum and north along the sweeping beach to the Maroochy River. Alexandra Headland has around 7000 locals and is just over 100km north of Brisbane. The main attraction of Alexandra Headland is a magnificent 1.8 km coastal frontage of superb beaches most of which are patrolled by the local surf club, additionally there are also walking tracks , parks and bbq areas.
